174-176 Maple Street
HISTORY
In 1873, local architect George Potter designed a row of six High Victorian Gothic style brick row houses at the corner of Maple and Central Streets.
THREAT
The houses have been in multiple ownerships and have been neglected. The City foreclosed on 174 and 176 Maple Street for back taxes and offered for sale with Community Development Block Grant assistance to help in exterior renovation. A developer was chosen, and he acquired the other four row houses. Because of no work having occurred, the City has taken back 174 and 176 while the current owner is renovating the four buildings.
